portfolio requirements BFA or MFA
The BFA or MFA portfolio offers insight into the artist's identity, motivations, interests and aims to authentically express their unique perspective and creative processes.
Visual art portfolios may encompass a variety of works, including observational pieces showcasing technical skills, pieces created from memory or imagination, or other methods reflecting the artist's personal vision.
AEA instructors play a crucial role in curating and editing the visual portfolio to align with the student’s personal viewpoint and written narrative. When writing about the artwork, students should delve into their intentions and sources of inspiration, providing insight into their creative journey. Each piece should be discussed in terms of the creative decisions made, the goals set, and the intentions aimed to be achieved. It's important to highlight pieces where experimentation, artistic risks, or creative challenges were undertaken.
Documentation
AEA instructors are able to help students in all aspects of their application including writing, editing, filming, presentation, and photographic documentation.
Include dimensions, titles, and brief narratives for each image, highlighting the significance of each piece.
